introductory post: hey there
so, i saw a friend of mine do this, so i figured i'd do it too.
hi, im anders, im from texas, im jewish, and i like to write things and stuff for D&D. most of what i write and DM is set in an in-game universe known as Loom - named as such after the main planet it centers around. me and three other dear friends have been working on it as a collective effort for a while now, and have DM'd various campaigns in it for a few years now. i really enjoy having both my own creative outlet to explore concepts and ideas as well as seeing what the other two people put out. it's a lot of fun and a great creative exercise, in my opinion.
a little bit of information about loom is probably necessary, in the case that those other than myself and the others i link this to read this.
loom is a planet about one-and-a-half times earth's size, with several continents i believe the three of us are still in the process of making (i'm responsible for alesir and kesair, which i'll post about later), and it exists in a solar system with about five other planets. it has three moons - one of which was destroyed, but i'll get to that eventually i'm sure - and has a wide variety of things and stuff on it, all of which i hope and intend to talk about at length. especially the things and stuff i'm responsible for making!
i DM a few campaigns set in loom's universe. my currently active one is False Prophets, a political thriller/drama-type campaign with a heavy focus on diplomacy, and a noir atmosphere. it's set in the new nation of Kosodania, which was formed on Alesir after the people occupying the territory, the Caaspinic Empire, were overthrown in a long and grueling war - the Kosodanian Revolutionary War. it deals with the prophet-leader of Kosodania, Anshel, assembling a group of mercenaries - The Kosodanian Seven, or the player characters - for help dealing with any threat the newborn nation faces.
on hiatus are: Justicar's Reach, Chants d'Ancients/Songs of the Old Ones (which I need to rename at some point), and Sunset Boulevard. Justicar's Reach is a campaign in which the player characters had two years to prevent the catastrophic end of the world, Chants d'Ancients takes place in Kosodania 30-40 years after FP and starts with a scientific convention in which the player characters have been accused of murder, and Sunset Boulevard is a noir-themed campaign taking place in a sprawling cityscape contained within an environmental dome, in which the player characters have discovered that they've all been glamored to look human, despite being a variety of races.
i also play in a few - land of the living, the rahlwyst expeditions, and a few upcoming ones - and might make some autobiographical-type posts about both my NPCs in my campaigns and PCs in other people's. anyways, i think that about sums it up for an introduction post - hopefully, the words i say will be good, and the content i post will be enjoyable! thanks for reading.
